THE Sixth Brunei National Conference on Autism 2008 will focus on accepting the disorder as an ability, rather than a disability and on better understanding and supporting individuals with autism.
From August 22 to 24, five foreign speakers will be deliberating on the conference's theme of "Don't DIS the Ability" at the Civil Service Institute in Rimba.
Through the conference, conference organiser Smarter Brunei hopes to point out that individuals with autism are not disabled, just different.

Minggu Sains telah pun dilancarkan oleh Guru Besar, Cikgu Md. Sani Hj Md Jais pada 21 Julai, 2008 (Isnin) di kawasan perkumpulan Sekolah Rendah Bengkurong.

Minggu Sains telah pun berjalan dengan lancarnya selama seminggu dan berakhir pada 26 Julai, 2008 (Sabtu). Kemuncak acara tersebut ialah Kuiz Menguji Minda untuk murid-murid rendah atas. Acara tersebut diakhiri dengan penyampaian hadiah bagi peserta-peserta yang berjaya dalam projek Sains dari Dh1 hingga Dh6 di Dewan Sekolah Rendah Bengkurong.

1- Lantikan AJK Promosi Kesihatan.
2- Kongsisama bersama PGB mengenai aktiviti Promosi Kesihatan.

* Murid-murid yang sakit diarahkan untuk tidak diberi makan panadol.

Fireworks Light Up Bandar Sky

Spectacular fireworks display at Taman Silver Jubilee.
Thousands of people in the vicinity of the Kiulap area and the capital were treated to a spectacular fireworks display at Taman Silver Jubilee, courtesy of the Brunei-Muara Executive Committee for His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 62nd Birthday Celebration.
Present to witness the event was Dato Paduka Awg Hj Md Yussop bin Bakar, Brunei-Muara District Officer and other committee members of the Brunei-Muara Executive Committee for His Majesty's 62nd Birthday Celebration.
Many people flocked to the Taman Silver Jubilee as early as 6.30pm to get a good spot for the half an hour fireworks show, which began at 8.15pm.
Motorists also stopped at the roadside leading to Kiulap to catch a glimpse of the first of many series of fireworks display planned for the monarch's birthday celebrations.
According to Awg Ibrahim bin Hj Salleh, who came to Taman Silver Jubilee with his five children, "Every year, I would come out to watch the fireworks display.
"We've been here since 7pm to get a good spot. It is good to have fireworks show to liven up His Majesty's birthday celebrations. My children love to watch the fireworks, and how often do we get a chance to view such a spectacular show?"
*P/s: To Bruneian... The next fireworks display will be held on July 26 at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien.

Sesi Menandatangani Rekod
Sesi menandatangani rekod kemajuan murid-murid telah diadakan pada 12/07/2006, Sabtu di Dewan Sekolah Rendah Bengkurong. Sesi itu bermula pada pukul 10.45 pagi.

Sukan Ria
Satu sukan ria telah diadakan di sekolah ini sempena penutup penggal persekolahan kedua. Acara ini diadakan pada 14 Jun 2008 di kawasan lapang SR Bengkurong. Berbagai aktiviti telah disediakan bagi murid-murid serta guru-guru di sekolah ini.
Sebahagian murid-murid yang mengambil bahagian dalam acara sukan ria.
