Spectacular fireworks display at Taman Silver Jubilee.
Thousands of people in the vicinity of the Kiulap area and the capital were treated to a spectacular fireworks display at Taman Silver Jubilee, courtesy of the Brunei-Muara Executive Committee for His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 62nd Birthday Celebration.
Present to witness the event was Dato Paduka Awg Hj Md Yussop bin Bakar, Brunei-Muara District Officer and other committee members of the Brunei-Muara Executive Committee for His Majesty's 62nd Birthday Celebration.
Many people flocked to the Taman Silver Jubilee as early as 6.30pm to get a good spot for the half an hour fireworks show, which began at 8.15pm.
Motorists also stopped at the roadside leading to Kiulap to catch a glimpse of the first of many series of fireworks display planned for the monarch's birthday celebrations.
According to Awg Ibrahim bin Hj Salleh, who came to Taman Silver Jubilee with his five children, "Every year, I would come out to watch the fireworks display.
"We've been here since 7pm to get a good spot. It is good to have fireworks show to liven up His Majesty's birthday celebrations. My children love to watch the fireworks, and how often do we get a chance to view such a spectacular show?"
*P/s: To Bruneian... The next fireworks display will be held on July 26 at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien.
