Brunei III won the overall championship of the first Primary Schools Sport Festival
with nine golds, four silvers and three bronzes for a total score of 16 .
The overall male sport champion with seven golds, three silvers, and three bronzes for a total 13 points was Brunei II.
The best male athlete was Nyou Shi Sheng from Chung Hwa Middle School KB. The best female athlete was Fatin Farah Nabilah from Sekolah Rendah Jerudong.
Brunei IV scored 14 for second place. Belait won third by scoring 12.
The guest of honour, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Hj Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Hj Mohammed Taib, Minister of Education, handed the trophies at the National Stadium in Berakas.
"I am so proud to all of you who made this event a success. For those who didn't succeeded, I hope you can try again at the upcoming sport festival and congratulations to those who won in this sport festival and keep up the good work," the minister said.
All participants in Primary Schools Sport Festival joined a march past.

Schools that took part were SR AHMY Kati Mahar, SR Bengkurong, SR Jerudong, SR Sengkurong, SR Mulaut, SR Bebuloh, SR Junjongan, SR Kasat, SR Lumapas, SR Masin, SR NAR Menunggol, SR Panchor Murai, SR Pengkalan Batu, SR PB Limau Manis and SR Putat.
Guest of honour at the event was the Senior Education Officer for Brunei Zone IV Schools of the Department of Schools from the Ministry of Education (MOE), Hjh Kamariah Ibrahim, who also officiated the event and presented trophies to the winners.
Others present were Acting Senior Education Officer for Brunei Zone IV Schools, Hj Abd Wahab Ismail, headmasters/headmistresses, acting headmasters/headmistresses and teachers.
Events organised were 100-metre sprint, 400-metre relay, long jump, discus and javelin throws, dart game, gunny sack run, to name a few.

The ceremony began with a mass Hajat prayer, followed by a mass recital of Surah Yassin which was led by Pehin Khatib Hj Zainuddin bin Pehin Khatib Dato Seri Setia Hj Tamin, a mosque officer from the Sultan Sharif Ali mosque, Kg Sengkurong.
After the prayer, a motivational talk was presented by Cikgu Hj Ali Yusri bin Hj Md Ghapur, an officer from the Counselling and Career Guidance Section of the Ministry of Education.
The ceremony was organised by Welfare and Social unit for Primary Schools of Brunei IV. It is one of the annual activities organised to prepare students for their PSR examinations.
Also present at the ceremony was Hjh Kamariah bte Hj Ibrahim, Senior Education Officer of the Primary Education Section at the Ministry of Education, Hj Umar bin Hj Muhammad, Chairperson of the Welfare and Social unit for Primary Schools of Brunei IV, officers as well as teachers of Schools of Brunei IV.

The Financial Planning Musical Theatre organised by Tabung Amanah Pekerja (TAP) yesterday was attended by 700 invited students from over 40 government and private primary schools nationwide.Taking place at the Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong, the project was part of TAP's efforts to inculcate and encourage savings among the young schoolchildren.
The theatrical show was performed by students from Seri Mulia Sarjana School after welcoming remarks were delivered by Irwandy Hj Lois, the Manager of TAP Corporate Communications Department.
Based on the classic children's tale "Jack and the Beanstalk", it stressed the importance of saving for a better future.
TAP's official mascot Alai Jimat also made a special appearance.
